My name is Mrs. Mendicuti, formely Ms. Sosa, and I have been working as a sixth grade teacher at Elkhorn School for three years. Prior to working at Elkhorn School, I lived in Valladolid, Spain for three years where I taught English as a language class to 12-16 year olds. My time in Spain has allowed me to improve on my Spanish speaking skills as well as grow as a person culturally. I truly enjoy sharing my experiences abroad with my students in hopes of encourging them to learn more about the world we live in.
I grew up in Prunedale and went to schools in our school district until I graduated from North County High School, so I am familiar with our school system. For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a teacher, so when I made my choice to go to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo I knew what I would be studying. I received my teaching credential from Cal Poly and after I had graduated I decided to live in Spain for a short time.
